The Department of Production Engineering educates highly skilled personnel for industry in the wider environment who are professionally and scientifically trained to solve complex problems in the field of production engineering, from design to development and planning to management at all levels from plants to complex industrial systems. Students gain knowledge about the transformation of materials, primarily metals, into the appropriate form, their incorporation into assemblies, and ultimately into the creation of finished usable products. The aforementioned transformations take place through the available modern production technologies, conventional and unconventional, about which students get the necessary knowledge. Knowledge about the management and maintenance of production systems, organizational concepts in production entities, automatics, electrical engineering and electronics, mechatronics, hydraulics and pneumatics, thermodynamics, etc., play a significant role in the aforementioned transformation. In addition to the mentioned areas of study, students are introduced to the basics of quality assurance as a prerequisite for the production of products with the desired properties and characteristics.
After successful completion of the study program, the student will be able to:
Identifies, formulates and solves problems related to production engineering using appropriate theoretical and practical knowledge;
Designs components and processes in accordance with set requirements; Uses software for designing and numerical control of machines in order to produce machine elements and parts;
