Energy and Thermo-Fluid Engineering

The Department of Energy and Thermo-Fluid Engineering bases its teaching and scientific program on three synergistic focuses:

FOCUS ONE – Modern energy conversion;

FOCUS TWO – Modern thermo-fluid engineering;

FOCUS THIRD – Laboratory teamwork & student involvement in research and research and development projects. ***

  • The imperative of the Department of Energy and Thermo-Fluid Engineering is to produce modernly qualified engineers, who meet modern standards of knowledge, skills and speed, supported by various numerical software for simulation and analysis.
  • Thermo-fluid engineering is a dynamic field of research and development that is applicable to almost all applications for the production and use of energy in our world today.
  • Whether it is cooling electronic devices, researching fuel cells and hydrogen, or microfluidic chips and devices, the development of thermo-fluidic engineering is enabling the world to use energy more sustainably and efficiently.
  • In addition to the common subjects in the first two years of mechanical engineering studies, which focus on fundamental disciplines, the third and fourth years of the curriculum deepen knowledge in a group of subjects based on energy conversion and thermo-fluidic modeling of various processes and phenomena.
  • The focus in the higher years of study is on laboratory work, experimental testing, and the active inclusion of students in research and research and development projects. Therefore, engineers in this field will be well prepared for almost all challenges in various industries.
  • Solar and wind power plants, as well as other modern sources of renewable energy, are in focus at the Department of Energy and Thermo-Fluidic Engineering.
  • Electric and hybrid motor vehicles, hydrogen-powered vehicles, photovoltaic panels and wind turbines are examples of technological innovations that can replace the need for fossil fuels, which is given special attention in the higher years of study.
